The holiday season is a time for joy, unity, and celebrating the spirit of giving. In Barren County, Kentucky, this year's Christmas promises to be bigger and brighter than ever, thanks to the collaboration of our county and city governments, dedicated community leaders, and generous local businesses. We are excited to announce the upcoming "Big Barren County Christmas" and are truly grateful for the collective effort that is making this holiday season a memorable one. In this blog post, we'll explore the heartwarming story behind this year's festivities and the individuals and organizations that have made it all possible.
A Joint Effort:
It's often said that teamwork makes the dream work, and that's precisely what's happening in Barren County this Christmas. Judge Byrd, Mayor Henry Royse, and April Russell have been instrumental in coordinating efforts between the city and county governments. Together, they have worked tirelessly to ensure that the entire community can come together and celebrate the holiday season in style.
Understanding Responsibilities:
To make the holiday magic happen, it's essential to understand the unique roles each entity plays. The outside of the square is under the city's jurisdiction, while the county is responsible for the inside. This division of responsibility sets the stage for an efficient and harmonious collaboration between the city and county governments.
The Heart of the City:
One of the most iconic features of any holiday season is the central Christmas tree, and in our case, it's right in the heart of the city. The city has always taken the lead in ensuring a beautifully decorated tree that acts as the centerpiece for the festivities.
Beautify Barren County's Contribution:
This year, a new non-profit organization, Beautify Barren County, has stepped up to make our Christmas celebration even more special. They have brought their creativity and resources to light up the alleyway between Subway on the Square and the BC County Building with a stunning lighted archway. Furthermore, they're helping with the cost of additional lights on the square, ensuring that every corner of Barren County is filled with festive cheer.
The Fiscal Court's Support:
The Barren County Fiscal Court has been instrumental in making this Christmas a reality. They've contributed to the purchase of lights, garland, and a beautiful "Merry Christmas" sign that will add a warm and inviting touch to the celebrations.
A City Decked in Lights:
The city has truly outdone itself this year. From gorgeous new wreaths to sparkling lights on the light poles, the city will be decked in a dazzling display of holiday spirit. What's even more special is that the lights used by the city are the same as those chosen by the county, reinforcing the unity of the holiday theme.
Luxury Landscaping's Generosity:
No Christmas is complete without a majestic live Christmas tree, and this year, Luxury Landscaping has generously donated a splendid tree that will stand tall in the heart of the square. This act of generosity exemplifies the true spirit of giving during the holiday season.
The Grand Kick-off:
Mark your calendars for November 17th because that's the day when all our hard work comes to fruition. The official lighting event promises to be a heartwarming and magical experience for everyone in Barren County. We invite you to join us in celebrating the most wonderful time of the year.
A Special Thank You:
Lastly, but certainly not least, we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated county and city employees who have invested their time, energy, and expertise into making this holiday season special for all of us. Your hard work and dedication do not go unnoticed, and we appreciate your efforts more than words can express.
